Vega 56 and Vega 64 guide

You should start with flashing to vega56 bios

i flashed the card withe vega 56 gigabyte model same as the 64 still same problem

Paste screenshots with your config, we have to analyze

Has anyone come across a Vega 64 - Blade? just bought a few reference Vegas and this one has the normal reference 56 bios flashed on but it doesnt hash that good and I cant find anything about this card on line

It depends what ttype Hynix u have, some are better than others. 50mh is good, many struggle to get 48mh.

Many ppl blame Hynix cards for bad performance but I like these running 52mh+ because of lower power consumption than Samsung, this is my experiance. What do you think?

im happy with 52+ and low Wattage like u said… No heating issues… Just few hash less, no complains on hynix 56 so far. Atm the ambient is so high here so i must dial down most of Samsung allso anyway…

Set fan 90

Hello my dear friends, this is my ergo for you

is 85c deg too much for mem temp for 56…i think so…?

Ya that’s too hot for me to run long term, just uses too much power and makes my house too hot. Just took apart a vega I bought used that was running at 85 mem on some ERG settings, and the thermals were trashed.

Doing thermals dropped core temp 3c and mem temp 6c
Before doing thermals on GPU 4:

After(ambient temps 2 degrees lower):

Since core temp only dropped 3c, I want to try something different on the pads next time. From some forum I read you are supposed to use 1mm pads on the VRAM and 0.5MM on the chokes, plus 1.5mm on one tiny section.
The .5 mm on the chokes seemed like they were not making contact so I going to do thermals on another vega later this week and try 1mm pads on VRAM and Chokes see if that is gives better core temps.

i did this hot one allready and another one too, the other came out fine, temps went down a lot…i must have fuck´d up with this one…i must do it again…later…and get those pads…i used paste…its good but the result on this other was not so good…

what did you do for pad thickness? do you already know if 1mm will work better on those chokes?

Also in that forum it says if mem temp is 85c after, you may have not done the small section at 1.5mm

well, that explains it…i kind of run out of paste at that point… actually my temps have been with max hash mem 85C core 62C

…okay…found local dealer…gonna order 1mm and 1.5mm .placed order for arctic thermals…they were out of the better ones, but these will defo make this problem child cooler, thanks once again bro

1mm was not much different than .5 mm for temps on second card.

Found a pretty cool new setting today GPU 5

SOC Set to 910 in OCs, have not verified what it is actually set to in TRM.
Running this strap on just GPU 5
amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 36 --RP 10 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 20 --REF 65535 --RFC 216 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 11 --RCDWR 12

or this for low power, low heat settings I kinda like this one better (GPU 5 only again).

SOC not set, says 960 in TRM
A better vega might break 100w on this setting. This card runs like 10w more then my good ones.

amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 37 --RP 11 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 20 --REF 65535 --RFC 248 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 11 --RCDWR 12

For Vega 56 do you guys use autofan or just set the fan ratio for each card? It seems that the autofan didn’t work well on my Vegas 56 (neither the --vega-temp configuration on TRM seems to work as well).

I was checking SOC voltages and noticed that my gpu 1 that is mem1045 is actually running SOC 1107.
I have allways thought that for vega 56 1028 is max SOC. Is this known thing ?

EDIT.straps that i use on that 56 . Stable - mem 1045 vdd 825-830 core 1100

amdmemtweak --RC 37 --RP 11 --WR 13 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 22 --REF 65535 --RFC 239 --RTP 6 --RRDL 5 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 12

Ya I noticed that, if you set mem to 1028 it goes SoC 1107. In my experience, changing mem from 1020 to 1028 gives +1Mh, and 1028 to 1050 only adds another .3 Mh.
I’ve only been able to get my 56 Rog Strix and flashed 64s to run at SoC1107. The guy I bought my last rig from said he ran his 56s at 1050 mem with this strap:

"Here’s the overclock and memory tweaks I was using for the Vegas

amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RAS 26 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 12 --RC 38 --RP 12
–RRDS 3 --RRDL 5 --RTP 6 --FAW 12 --CWL 8 --WTRS 4 --WTRL 9 --WR 13
–REF 24000 --RFC 239

coreclock 1100
memclock 1050
core/mem voltage 850mv"

I didnt do much testing with his strap yet I like the 1020/1028 mem settings.
