Trying to find optimal configuration for RTX 3080

I’m new here and just starting to learn about mining and hiveos. My two RTX 3080 cards are showing below hashrates, temperatures and power consumption. Overall: in my opinion they are running too hot, having too high power consuption and showning too small hashrate. Could anyone share with me any hint or direction where to look for the optimal setup for that cards? I see people are posting screenshots with 90-100MH/s on 240 W, or 70 MH/s on 140 W but what I get here is looking too bad for me.

I’m using Ethminer, btw.

ok, after searching here in forum, it seems it can be an issue with thermal throttling?

found some topics from the last year, will investigate further.

you have lhr cards so you wont get close to 100mh. your power draw is high because you have no clocks set, default clocks are good for gaming, but terrible for mining.

use a miner that offers lhr partial unlocking like trex, gminer or nbminer, set your memory as high as is stable, and core clock around 1500 is a good starting point for all lhr cards

thanks @keaton_hiveon, will try that

found more or less optimal settings for now:

looks like Efficiency of apprx 320 kH/W looks like a good setting for this type of card.

Up the core to around 1200, and up the memory to as much as is stable, should be 2000-2800 range. That should get you around 75-76mh.

thanks for you hints.
I was trying to find a good compromise between efficiency and temperature. running under 60 degree celsius looks reasonable for me at 69-79 MH/s. Setting memory to 2200 increases temperature up to 68 degree. I’m waiting for the thermal pads now, hopefully it will solve the issue…

They do run warm, you can limit power draw to lower temps some at the cost of some hashrate. An external fan will help a lot
